Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 18 October 2026

SPHERE AI L.L.C-FZ, United Arab Emirates, operates SPHER and is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact info@spher.ai for privacy questions or requests. This policy is information about processing, not a request for blanket consent. Optional usage statistics require a separate choice and are not a condition of using the app.

1. Information Processed

Account information · sign-in identifiers and email provided through Apple or Google, username, date of birth and account settings.

Profile and matching information: profile photos, covers, bio, gender, orientation, relationship intentions, desires, languages and other fields you choose to provide; answers to questions, preferences, likes, compatibility tests, matches and blocks. Some of these fields or answers may reveal sexual orientation, sex life or other sensitive information. Do not put information about other people in your profile without permission.

Communications · messages, photos and any other supported media you submit, along with sender, recipient, time, read state and conversation status. Existing media can remain subject to the retention behavior described below even when a sending feature is no longer offered.

Location · when you grant permission, the app uses device coordinates to derive approximate location for nearby suggestions, distance and city features. Profile visibility settings and device location permission are separate choices.

Verification and safety · a selfie and profile photo if you choose selfie verification, verification outcomes and attempt records, photo moderation results, reports and blocking information.

Technical information · authentication sessions, push tokens, service logs and network information such as IP addresses as needed to deliver and protect the service. Invitation and compatibility link handling can also process link/session identifiers and network information to resume a session.

Purchases · store transaction identifiers, product and subscription status, and records needed to verify purchases and prevent duplicate grants. Payment card details are handled by the store or payment provider, not entered into SPHER.

2. Purposes and Legal Grounds

We process account, matching, communication and purchase information to provide the services you request and administer purchases. Technical and safety processing supports service security, abuse prevention and legal obligations. Where applicable, these activities rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating a safe service, or a legal obligation; the appropriate basis depends on the purpose and applicable law.

Optional usage analytics rely on your separate consent. Device permissions control access to location, camera and notifications; granting a device permission is not consent to analytics or to unrelated uses.

Some matching and verification information may receive special protection under local law. Any processing that requires explicit consent or another special legal condition must satisfy that condition separately; accepting the Terms or simply completing a field is not a substitute for legally required explicit consent.

Matching and compatibility use answers and preferences to rank or suggest people and calculate scores. These are automated estimates, not guarantees or professional assessments. Usage statistics from PostHog are not used to calculate compatibility scores.

3. Visibility and Access

Other users can see the profile information and media made available through profiles, Feed, likes, matches or compatibility features, subject to visibility settings and access restrictions. Some fields can be hidden. Do not assume that a profile photo is private merely because it was uploaded to your account.

Conversation content is delivered to its participants. Disappearing or deleted content may already have been viewed, copied or recorded by a recipient; SPHER cannot remove copies outside the service.

Exact device coordinates are not displayed as a profile field; approximate distances and city information may reveal your general area. Hidden fields can still be processed internally for the service's functions.

Authorized service systems, providers and personnel can process relevant data to operate the service, review safety reports, support users or meet legal obligations. SPHER chats are not end-to-end encrypted.

4. Service Providers and Photo Checks

Lovable Cloud and its infrastructure providers support hosting, authentication, database and file storage. Apple and Google support sign-in and applicable store services; Google/Firebase and device services support push delivery. RevenueCat supports store purchase and subscription verification.

Photo checks and optional selfie verification send relevant images through the Lovable AI Gateway to Google Gemini models. Photo checks assess prohibited content and whether a person is visible; selfie verification compares a selfie with the profile photo. These checks can be wrong and are not government identity, age or background verification. Contact support if you believe a safety or verification outcome is incorrect.

PostHog processes optional usage statistics as described in the next section. Service providers may have their own responsibilities for data they process, particularly store, sign-in and payment information; their privacy terms also apply to those activities.

Data may be processed outside your country, including by the UAE-based operator and international cloud or AI providers. The European region selected for analytics does not mean all SPHER data stays in Europe. International processing remains subject to applicable transfer requirements; provider locations, contracts and safeguards should not be inferred from an app permission.

We may disclose relevant information where legally required or necessary to respond to a lawful request or protect users. We do not sell personal data or send private chat content to PostHog for advertising.

5. Optional Usage Statistics

Usage statistics are off by default. You can opt in separately during onboarding or under Settings > Privacy preferences > Share usage statistics, and change your choice there later. Consent is stored on this device; choosing not to share does not prevent you from using SPHER. The app respects Do Not Track.

The PostHog integration uses its European endpoint. With a new explicit choice for expanded usage statistics, allowed events describe setup and question progress, saves and errors, screen categories, matching attempts and outcomes, message sends and whether a later reply was observed in the same conversation, profile completion, foreground returns, likes, blocked filters, and store checkout outcomes. Existing consent is not silently expanded. Events contain random device/session identifiers and finite software categories, not your account identity, chat identifiers or the values you choose in profile or question steps. This is pseudonymous information, not a promise of irreversible anonymity; network requests also expose technical information to the receiving service.

For consenting devices, limited local analytics records deduplicate observed milestones and correlate a send with a later reply. Operational conversation/message keys remain on the device and are never sent to PostHog. These records expire after 30 days of use and are cleared on withdrawal or an observed account change. Reinstallation or clearing storage can break the measured journey. Only events observed after consent are measured; statistics do not represent everyone using SPHER.

The app does not send message text, photos, question answers, usernames, email addresses, invite codes, complete URLs or purchase receipts in analytics events. Automatic click capture, screen recordings, heatmaps and advertising retargeting are not enabled by this integration.

Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection and resets the analytics identity used on this device. It does not automatically erase events already received by PostHog. Contact info@spher.ai for questions about existing records; a random device identifier may be needed to locate them.

6. Storage, Retention and Deletion

Data is stored for service operation, subject to the feature's behavior. Chats can expire or be ended, and disappearing-message logic can remove messages and queue associated media for deletion before account deletion. Some records can be retained for safety reports, purchase verification, abuse prevention or legal obligations.

Settings > Delete account requests account removal. The app clears account-local data only after the service confirms success. If the request fails, an error is shown and access and local data remain available so you can retry. Deleting an app from your phone is not an account deletion request and does not cancel a store subscription.

A successful account deletion is not a guarantee that every backup, security log, provider record, store transaction or recipient's copy is erased immediately. This policy does not promise a verified universal 30-day deletion deadline. For retention details or a deletion request you cannot complete in the app, contact info@spher.ai.

Necessary session and cache information can remain on your device to support sign-in and reopening the app; see the Cookie Policy. Separate store/provider records are governed by their applicable retention obligations.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can edit available profile information, adjust visibility, block/report users and request account deletion in the app. Change location, camera and notification permissions in device settings. Turning off notifications does not erase your account or change analytics consent.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact info@spher.ai; we may need proportionate identity confirmation before providing or deleting personal information.

You may complain to the competent data protection authority and retain all mandatory rights under applicable law. Not all rights apply to every record or processing purpose.

8. Security and Adults Only

The service uses encrypted connections and access restrictions, but no service can guarantee absolute security. These measures are not end-to-end encryption and do not mean that only conversation participants can ever access stored information.

SPHER is for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly provide the service to minors. Report suspected underage use or child-safety concerns through the app or info@spher.ai; see the Child Safety Standards.

9. Changes and Contact

We will update this date when the policy changes and communicate material changes or obtain new consent where required. An update to this policy does not automatically authorize new consent-based uses.
