Cookie Policy
Last Updated: 18 October 2026
SPHER uses cookies and similar device storage, including localStorage and IndexedDB, for sign-in, preferences, app caches and optional usage statistics. This policy supplements the Privacy Policy. Contact info@spher.ai with questions.
1. Necessary Storage
Authentication sessions, account-scoped profile and conversation caches, consent choices and interface preferences support sign-in and app operation. Some records persist after the app or browser is closed; closing it does not automatically sign you out or delete all local data.
Storage lifetime depends on its purpose, app cleanup and your browser or device settings. We do not promise that every session ends on close or that all persistent storage expires after a fixed number of months.
2. Optional Analytics
PostHog usage statistics are off by default and require separate opt-in during onboarding or in Settings > Privacy preferences > Share usage statistics. The choice applies on this device and is separate from location or notification permissions. Do Not Track is respected.
After opt-in, PostHog stores a random analytics identity in localStorage. Expanded journey statistics require a fresh explicit choice and describe steps, confirmed saves, errors, screen categories, matches, observed replies, foreground returns, likes and store outcomes. Consent does not authorize collection of chosen profile values or answers. This is pseudonymous analytics, not guaranteed irreversible anonymity.
Limited local milestone and conversation records prevent repeated counting and associate an observed send with a later reply. Conversation/message keys stay on the device, are never sent to PostHog, and expire after 30 days of use. Withdrawal and observed account changes clear these local records. Existing consent is not silently extended to new journey events.
The app does not include account identity, private content, answers, invite codes, complete URLs or purchase receipts in these events. Automatic click capture, screen recordings, heatmaps and advertising retargeting are not enabled by this integration. These statistics do not determine matching scores.
3. Location and Permissions
Location is obtained through device/browser permission, not through a separate category of geolocation cookies. Location and other service information may be cached or stored as described in the Privacy Policy. Device permissions do not enable PostHog analytics.
4. Managing Storage and Consent
Change your analytics choice in Settings > Privacy preferences. Withdrawing consent stops future collection and resets the local analytics identity; it does not automatically delete events already received by PostHog.
Browser or device controls can clear cookies and app storage. Clearing necessary storage can sign you out, reset preferences or remove unsent local drafts. Clearing storage or uninstalling the app is not a request to delete your server account or cancel a store subscription.
5. Providers and Existing Records
Necessary storage supports the service's authentication and infrastructure providers. Optional analytics are sent to PostHog's European endpoint; requests include technical network information such as an IP address. See the Privacy Policy for providers, international processing and your rights.
For information about retention of existing analytics or to exercise applicable rights, contact info@spher.ai. We have not stated a universal expiry period for all cookies, caches and provider records.
6. Changes
We will update this date when this policy changes and request additional consent where required before enabling new optional uses.
